Fitness Fashion & Accessories

 Why be blah when you can sport the best looking fashion at the gym or, in my case, CrossFit box? Fitness fashion has come a long way in the past few years and I take advantage of that step forward Choosing tops, shorts, pants and shoes that enhance my CrossFit workouts and, like my regular clothes, show off my lean, muscular body is the only way to go in my book.  A staple in my fitness wardrobe is the Nike Fundamental 2" Split Shorts made with Dri-FIT fabric that helps wick moisture away from the skin.  This split-leg short has an elastic waist with a polyester drawstring and one internal key pocket perfect if you’re running out the door for a quick run or workout regimen and just lock the door behind you.  These shorts are adorned with the infamous Reflective #2 Swoosh design trademark at the lower left leg and the NikeFIT trademark at the upper right back hip. I believe in working with what you got and even if I gain weight, my legs look long and lean so may as well show them off in this close, cropped look! ;)

 

I’m not a fan of shoes without support, especially for running, so I nix the typical CrossFit brand shoes or Innovates (which are popular with many XFitter’s) for these Reebok Zigwild Charge running shoes. Featuring a mesh upper and lining that make them durable and light in weight they offer comfort and support for every type of movement on your feet.  The rubber outsoles provide added comfort to my feet and a mesh top for breathability adds an element of refreshment when my feet are working hard to keep up the pace in the WOD.  ZigTech zigzag outsole is designed to help maximize responsiveness and provide an aggressive grip through inclines or rough surfaces which we often face in CrossFit WOD’s, especially outdoors.  These shoes give a boost to all running, jogging or Crossfit exercises.

 

We all know my love for sweet tea runs long and wide, but my fitness refresher of choice is VOSS water. Voss is a Norwegian brand of bottled water from Vatnestrom in the Iceland municipality which is actually 400km away from Voss County.  Fitting for someone who many think is Scandinavian by my looks, this personal fave of mine is currently marketed as a carbon neutral beverage that nets a zero carbon footprint. Completely refreshing after an intense CrossFit WOD! By the way, not a drop of Scandinavian blood in me as far as I know as my ancestors actually hailed from the British Isles. While I’m not exactly sure where the blond/blue, tall and lean with a donkey booty figure came from in my family, I sure am thankful for whomever is responsible in my lineage! ;)
